2025 Scholarship Guidelines and Policy

TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION - PLEASE READ AND SCROLL TO BOTTOM TO ACKNOWLEDGE

A. PURPOSE

The purpose of the policy is to provide guidelines for the application and distribution of scholarships for Stillwater Youth Football and Cheer Association (“SYFCA”) programs and events. The purpose of a scholarship is to help families participate in youth tackle football and cheer when they might not otherwise be able to afford it.

B. POLICY

The scholarship policy establishes the eligibility requirements, distribution, award level, and guidelines that apply to all SYFCA programs for which a fee is charged. It is the desire of the SYFCA Board of Directors that scholarships exist to execute the mission of SYFCA by assisting low-income families and subsidizing costs associated with SYFCA programs and events, in accordance with guidelines set forth by the SYFCA Board of Directors.

C. ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants are required to attend a school district within SYFCA’s service area.

• Applicants must provide a copy of the Free or Reduced Lunch Letter from their school.

D. APPLICATION

Complete the SYFCA Scholarship Application Form, upload your Free or Reduced Lunch Letter and submit. An application must be filled-out and submitted for each eligible family member. You must provide required documentation for proof of eligibility. Applications must be completed by a parent or guardian if the recipient is under the age of 18. Scholarship eligibility doesn’t guarantee an award for a registration as funding is determined by budget allocations each fiscal year. Members of the SYFCA Board of Directors will review applications. Applications will be processed June 15 after all documentation is received and verified. Applicants will be notified by email of their status after the application has been processed.

E. DISTRIBUTION

Scholarships are awarded on June 15. Applications must be submitted annually prior to the deadline. Funding is determined by budget allocations each fiscal year. For 2025, each scholarship covers $225 toward the program registration fee.

F. PROGRAM GUIDELINES

All scholarships are non-transferable, and they cannot be replaced with additional scholarship funds due to the non-use of the original scholarship.

G. MAXIMUM ELIGIBILITY

Due to limited resources and in efforts to be fair to all families, each eligible family is limited to a maximum of two (2) scholarships.

Stillwater Youth Football and Cheer Association is a non-profit organization with limited funding available for scholarships. No guarantee of assistance is implied by the submission of the scholarship application. Scholarship funding is limited and made available on the basis of greatest need.
